If you’ve found yourself on this page, you must be curious about the girl behind the blog…
My name is Taylor Battersby and I live in a small mining town in Central Queensland called Moranbah. I currently work four days a week as a regulatory officer with my local government – sounds boring, I know! I’m in my third year of studying a Bachelor of Arts part time through distance education with CQUniversity, and my majors are History, Literary and Cultural Studies, and Journalism.
This blog has been set up as part of my COMM11007 Media Writing course for my Journalism major. My aim for this course is to reignite my passion for learning, at a time when I’m in a bit of a mid-way slump with my degree – a feeling I’m sure most uni students can relate to.
As part of this blog, I’ll be writing about the thriving social circuit of small town life. I hope to show people that you can have fun living in small town. The trick is to make your own fun!
